None because not to many bands make awesome music. They don't have the energy like the old bands and none of them know how to make sounds like the old bands without technology. I mean more than what they used back then. The new bands pretty much suck ass. I mean there are a couple of good ones out there but not to many that know how to put on a good show.
Well great bands don't get replaced but who is new that will rock like they did and do....you got me??? I haven't really seen or heard anyone who is the next legend or that will change the scene. Sadly today's bands lack either talent and creativity or personality or both! Hell I think Kid Rock might be the lastest thing that might have that status one day....and personally, I do think the boy can rock and all that, but doesn't do it for me like the "legends" do....damn it my girl was right...I'm getting too old lol
I would have to say Black Tide, they are in their teens, but they rock! They can definitely fill their shoes. If you haven't heard them you should check em out.
IT SIMPLY WONT HAPPEN ... THE END lolol
i dont think there will be another music era like the 70's and 80's but there are some good bands around i can a couple like. Alestorm,Skiltron,Jaded heart and Celtic Legacy.
i think Godsmack could be a heavy hitter. there is really noone today that could fill the shoes of the rock legends of the 70's and 80's. i find myself going abroad with Amon Aroth (whatever) and Dimmu Borgir. what's my other option? Linkin Park? no thanks.
The only one that i can think of is the Irish band The Answer. They are a definite throwback to the 70's and they definitely pay homage to the likes of Thin Lizzy and Aerosmith, who's Sweet Emotion they have recently covered.
I don't see any of the new band's out there that can fill the shoe's of all the great bands.
Okay I know where you're going, and know what you are trying to ask, but pretty much anyone her ewill say the same thing:

They can't be replaced. They can be good, but NO ONE will overthrow or replace legends like Metallica.

But if you want an honest answer, MY BAND WILL!

Unleash your Inner Thunder!

We'll get stuff up soon on our myspace and I'll show them to ya.
well....
whut about michael jackson? LOL
it shows your age if you think metallica are a legend, they are still new boys on the block ! AC/DC. Areosmith, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Budgie have at least 10 years + on them
Bandolier ... time out isnt the only thing that makes a band legendary .. and Metallica have been out long enough anyway but my point is ... if you go solely by how long they have been out then please tell me where the cut off is .. cos ... there is always some band out before the band we mention ... SM mentioned Metallica ... you say they havent been out long enough and that 'AC/DC. Areosmith, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Budgie have at least 10 years + on them' well there were kick ass bands before them too and then before them and then before them ... you get the point i am making?? for me legend status comes not just from time out .. of course they have to have had a decent amount of time out to get that status but for me that status comes from the music the albums the llongevity the fans the passion and on the list goes... all these things go into making legends not ONLY how much time they have been around .. BUT as i said if you are taking it on time then no matter which band you pick their will always be bands before them that are legends that inspired them to be who they became...but that doesnt make the others NOT legends simply because there are other legends before them.

Anyway thats just my opinion.. hope i explained myself right. Keep rocking
