Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

yeah, I tried signing up for facebook  just to see what the hype is about but they rejected my birth name so fuck them. We all have had more life experiences than these 2 punks who started facebook in the first place & I'm gonna remain loyal to the group that really gives a shit & that is MAMASFALLENANGELS...

well..........O B V I O U S L Y that site FB was started to make MONEY......(they have mega tons of ADS/cookies/etc)

yes

this site is nice, just wish more peeps were active LOL

Everyone is one that site so FB must be doing something right. I think more music gets put out on that site than any other social site.

Facebook is, for the most part, easy to use.  I can post videos, I have my own rock and roll group, I'm in touch with family and friends and have made new friends.

Like it or not Facebook is the rage, and it isn't going away any time soon.

Nothing against MFA at all, this was a great site, but lets face it, it's been pretty much dead for some time now.  Good example is the KISS "fan" group.  With 1585 members!   The group has little to no activity, yet the band is on on tour with Motley Crue and are kicking ass in one of the biggest tours of their career, the new stage is phenomenal,  (and I have to say this:  Eric singer and Tommy Thayer KICK ASS!), the band has a new single out (Hell of Hallelujah, which is EXCELLENT, seriously, check it out), a new Monster Book, and a new studio album on the way, yet the "fan" group here is damn near dead.

Plus the fact that I got ripped on by other so called fans in that group, total bullshit.

Meanwhile on facebook there are fan groups sharing AMAZING pics of KISS, awesome discussions (and I can be a fan of all lineups of KISS in many of these fan groups without being given Hell for it), sharing of videos etc...

Facebook doesn't have the snobby little bitches who think they are God's gift to the world telling others how to conduct themselves.

So where do you think I'd rather spend my time and efforts?

Well said, FB is only getting bigger and better. I for one used to hate FB, Myspace was the site, especially for bands, then drastic changes were made and FB became the site where everyone wanted to be. When I first came to MFA a couple years ago, it was an awesome site, then it became more and more like a soap opera and less music. Its too bad because Robbo put alot into this site so we could all meet new ppl and learn and share about new music and dats all I gotta say

Both MFA and facebook have their place.  Call the studio any Monday between 9pm and 11pm central to discuss: 773-298-3386.  That's the studio of WXAV radio in Chicago where I can be found hosting "The Jungle," a live non-profit hard rock, hair/pop metal radio show. You're welcome to tune in....you're welcome to call in....you're welcome to rock with us in "The Jungle" at wxav.com or 88.3 FM Chicago.  Rock on people!!!  -BC

I don't give a rats ass about being popular.I don't pretend to be anything other than what I am.Mrs D Ceased, you are welcome in my crowd anyday, :)..

I don't really like face f* uck oops i mean face book all that much. i liked myspace better. But everyone went to fake book twitter pater instead leaving me no choice to follow,as to stay in touch with distant relatives and friends.

Myspace was a great site for bands and their promoters, however when they made all the unnecessary changes, FB took over. I hated FB 3 years ago now its where I do almost all my work

Everybody's in FB, thats it. But can't embed objects that easily. That's FB's problem

when you hit the share button, it will go to your profile page, but when you want to share of put something else on your page. Go to where it is that you want to post and copy the link in the url and paste it into your status or whoever you are sharing it with. I hope this may have helped
