Gotta question.... Ok a friend of mine and i were arguing on which lineup of kiss is better..
I told him that mine was Gene, Paul, Eric Carr or Eric Singer, and Bruce Kulick.... even tho i believe they all have extreme potential
His is Gene, Paul, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss, but he also likes Eric Carr's drumming skills.... which he also likes a majority of the members too but he can't stand Vinnie Vincent...
So my Dilemma is which lineup is still prefered by a majority of the fans?
The Classic: Gene, Paul, Ace, and Peter (and partially Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent since they were part of the masked era)
The Unmasked era: Gene, Paul, Eric Carr, Mark st. John, Vinnie Vincent, Eric Singer, and Bruce Kulick
Or the New Era: Gene, Paul, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer

Honestly I just love KISS, everyone who has ever been in this amazing band is awesome as far as I am concerned.
Now be prepared for the posts telling you that the only lineup worth a damn is the originals. I get it all the time. While I do think they were the best lineup I think all of the lineups have been awesome....my 2nd favorite would be Gene, Paul, Bruce, and Eric Carr.
As for the current lineup I have mixed feelings about it, but I agree with a statement Paul Stanley said yesterday : "The band wouldn't be here without Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and wouldn't be here if it was still the originals"
Also there are discussions on this in the KISS fan group, check it out! http://www.mamasfallenangels.com/group/kiss

I seen them once during their unmasked era and it was a really great show..I have a soft spot for the classic line`up..being 7 years old when I first heard them I get all nostalgic hearing their music from the 70's.
Permalink Reply by Rock N Roll Tiff on May 21, 2011 at 10:42pm There is no best lineup in my opinion. They were all good.
If I did have to choose, it would be the Paul, Gene, Eric Carr, and Bruce Kulick lineup. I feel that era is very under-rated.
Now costume wise, I'd go with the first costumes the band ever wore as KISS.

I have been a fan of every line up of the band. I still prefer the original line up of Gene, Peter, Paul and Ace. My other two favorite line ups ( that I never got to see live) was when Eric Carr replaced Peter and then later when Eric Singer replaced Peter on the farewell tour.. My friends and I back when Peter left the first time thought well as long as they had the BIG 3 we were okay with it. Nothing against Peter.
I really enjoyed the unmasked era cause of the music they made, the freedom they had to try different things without the makeup and costumes and the ease of seeing and meeting the band on the road.
Permalink Reply by RECKY (Dave Reck) on May 23, 2011 at 4:59am well....the first lineup that grabbed your attention is the best lineup ......HOWEVER......i'm a huge, huge, huge fan of
SIMMONS, STANLEY, KULICK, SINGER version....with an honorable mention to the " THE FOX"
Permalink Reply by Roxxie Sleaze on May 23, 2011 at 10:17am I think my favorite was with Eric Carr, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Ace Frehley. I loved the live videos from the Unmasked shows in Austrailia. To me, they sounded the best here. Even though I know this line-up was short lived.
