This is what is wrong with Mama's Fallen Angels

What has happened to this site? I have posted several times over the last few months about new bands and items about established metal acts. Hardly any responses at all. I have even stuck up for this site when others have said it was lame. But I had 0 responses to a post this weekend about a great band I had not heard of before. But people WILL post or keep alive the dumbass threads like "Heavy Metal Jumble" or "Song Connection Game" or the best one yet "What did you eat last" that one is a real winner! Is this a site for metal music lovers or not? I see why Judaslover and other long time members never post anymore. This site for the exception of a few, has become a joke! Just my opinion....and by the way....I am eating a bowl of Cheerios tonight for whoever wants to know.......

It's not that "our music" is losing popularity, Doug. It's just that fewer people/kids have good taste in music as time goes on. I myself have never gotten tired of the awesome 80's & hair metal that came with it. I doubt I ever will either! I'll be 80 yrs. old with DIO blasting on my ancient boombox & a bowl of smoke in hand just puffin away! ;-}

Good points. Some of it has lost its appeal to me but I still love a lot of it, I kinda narrowed my list of favorites and listen to fewer bands but get deeper into those bands now. I think maybe it was just a weird coincidence that so many people found this site at the "right" time. There was a real good core of regulars here but times do change(I think I was unemployed when I joined this site and had lots of time to kill) The site got pretty damn big at one point and when that happens it attracts all kinds of weirdo's and spammers and it seemed to ruin it. And let's forget about all the silly drama.

Good points from you as well, sir! LOL. There was a "core" group of regulars & originals (twisted sense of humor wise ;} ) that visited here often but we all evolved with the times I suppose. The music hasn't changed but our lives do. I know I made a lot of great friends here that I'll hopefully have for life & I keep in touch with on FB. And I know what you mean about some of the tunes or bands have lost their appeal over time but that's just because we're becoming old farts, Doug. HA! Certain bands though like Dio, Scorpions, Queensryche, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Whitesnake, Dokken, Skid Row, yada yada yada, made quality & timeless music that will always be awesome. True song writers that wrote beautiful melodies. All we can do is try to pass it on to the younger generations which we have done fairly well I think! Our work is never done though! We had a good thing going here at one time, most have moved on and although a good percentage of us are all on FB, we still check in here from time to time. If this site could be the way it was when I joined, I'd come back more often.
