Where 80's Metal Fans Connect
Which Song Rocked Harder....Def Leppard vs. Poison
Since it was discovered last week that these bands would be touring together this summer (and in light of their recent war of words) I thought it might be cool to throw them together for a Which Song Rocked Harder.
Poison has always been about the Harley riding, good time aspect in their music. They've sang about pain and loss, but those songs always seemed to be lamenting the pain and loss that the Harley riding good times had gone. Or that a woman that was your squeeze during the Harley riding good times was gone. Fallen Angel, the inspiration for this site's name, will be our first entrant into the ring of battle today. It's about innocence, innocence lost, and then innocence found again.
Def Leppard is similar to Poison in several ways (they also have a catalog of songs about the good times) but they are different in several ways too. Def Lep has always been decidedly British, and I think that is what distanced them from the Hollywood glam metal bands. Not made them any better, mind you, just different. Animal, off the multi world dominating smash of a record Hysteria, is the choice from Def Lep today.
Def Lep back in the day was a straight ahead rock band, then found glam and the poppier side of life later on, and now write complex adult music that appeals to the fans still as well as the critics. Poison was a straight ahead party band, then found some bluesier roads later in their career, and now are still successful on the strength of their live show and pro-American dream ideals.
Both bands rock...both bands meant alot to our brand of hard rock and metal. Which song from these quintessential bands rocked harder?

I like both, and your right Poison is my fav. but I like both but idk which I think is actually better hmmmm.....well I like Fallen Angel, but again my fav band, of course, it's cool they're touring together, but I'm still not gonna get to see em, they aren't playing anywhere closer than 4 hrs from me:(

Poison takes this one! No question about it.
"Fallen Angel" is one of those songs that can pick you up when you're feeling down and it's one of my favorite songs, period. I love it!

I love Fallen Angel by Poison...it's my favorite song form them. I saw them both in concert and they both rocked!! Def Leppard has more history behind them., but I'm going with Poison. Bret Michaels is a fkn dream!!!
