Badlands was a short-lived rock band founded by Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee and Black Sabbath members Ray Gillen and Eric Singer. Badlands also featured bassist Greg Chaisson. After the first Badlands album, Eric Singer was replaced by Jeff Martin. The group lasted from 1988 to 1992 and released two albums, Badlands (1989) and Voodoo Highway (1991) before Gillen left and was replaced by singer John West from New York. Ray's death in 1993 effectively ended any hopes of re-uniting the project. A posthumous release of the album Dusk (originally recorded in 1992-1993) was released in 1998.

I was lucky to see Badlands several times here in San Diego. Ray's voice was powerful. Along with Jake's amazing playing. The back line was held together by Greg and Jeff (unfortunately Eric had already left the group) I have all 3 cd's and really like Badlands & Voodoo
Highway the best. I saw them one time with John West but it just wasn't the same as with Ray.

Tree of the best albums ever made. Ray had an incredible voice. He is truly missed, and Jake is a masterful madman on guitar. Need some new stuff from him.

I knew Jake way back when and he's a really cool guy and a great guitar player ! I hope to see more of him in the future.

It saddens me that only 3 people are members of this group dedicated to one of my favorite bands ever. :-(

What a great band, I wore out the s/t until Voodoo Highway came out, and then wore that out too. Hell, I even like Dusk for what it is. Rarely does a band put so much passion into their music so successfully. RIP Ray Gillen, one of the great voices of our time. Now if only Jake would get back on his feet and actually release something serious....
