Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

Tenuous Guns N' Roses link here, but not only was Sorum the band's second drummer, but Aerosmith were also one of the band's biggest influences (And I'm sick of all the GNR rumours).

I got into Aerosmith in the '80s, and loved Permanent Vacation and Pump, but didn't like much after that, as the music went more bland and poppy, and overall prefer the '70s stuff (Dream On and Sweet Emotion are my fave 'smith tracks). So it was great to read that the new album is supposed to be a return to their roots according to Matt Sorum, who's heard it:
