Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

I'm lucky enough to be from the EastEnd Of London so I saw Maiden play the local pubs long before they became known to the world.I never saw them at the Cart & Horses, where they played their 1st gig but did see them at the Plough & Harrow & the famous Ruskin Arms & was hooked from the off. They just got better & better over the years but I didn't like the Blaze period but now Bruce & Adrian are back they are back to form.Oh yea I'm a West Ham fan as well,so I have alot in common with the band.

Hi Mark. Lucky U to followed them from the very beggining ;) I am from different part of Europe. My love at the first song was when I heard Killers. Wow, that was amazing experience :). So I am fun 29 years ago. I didn't like Blaze period too, but I must be honest, I didn't even try to listen carefully
hi from colombia!!!
i am a maiden fan since i was 10 years old (now i am 32)....
since the first time i heard them i fall in love with their music ..
i saw them live for my first time in february last year and saw them again in march this year ...a whole life waiting to see them .

jairrock.
I think we all do that but when you do play them again,no matter who they are, they are fresh & your hooked all over again.
jaja it´s true!!!!!!
Seems like forever!
1980 I bought my first maiden album...the Number of the Beast. Was hooked ever since.
In Rutherford N.J. there was a small shop called "Schizophrenia!" on Park Ave.. The guy who owned it made Maiden's stage clothes. (all the spandex 80's stuff..think the World Slavery tour!!) He had a rack of Maiden rejects for sale. Each piece was tagged with the band members name and reason why it was rejected. (too small, too big, etc.) My friends & I would go there and buy up all the rejects. I had a Dave Murray shirt, and a pair of Steve's infamous black & white stripped pants.
The pants were too small for him, but fit me fine, except in the length. They were too short on me so I could only wear them with boots! The store was a shrine to Maiden. Photos of them plastered all over the walls.
I don't know how I got into talking about that store, but, I thought fellow Maiden fans would enjoy hearing about it.
That sounds like a really cool store, you would think there would be one in East London, their home town.but there isn't.In the West Ham (The bands & my favourite football/soccer team)supporters club there are 3 gold disks which were donated by the band.
It wasn't me that that said that it was Jezebel but it was released in 82 not 83.
haha - 1980, did Iron Maiden even think at that time they will release the Number of the Beast :) LOL
Bought the Number of the Beast album in '82 (?) when I was 12 because I liked the cover. Listened to it and that was it, I've been a die hard fan ever since. Seen them in concert over a dozen times and think they are the best metal band ever!!!!!! I'll be 90 yrs old in a wheel chair rockin' out to Maiden!!!!
I saw Maiden on the Killers Tour when they opened for Judas Priest in Dallas texas...
got the album the next day.. fan ever since.. seen them aMOST EVERY TOUR EXCEPT PIECE OF MIND, and the last two...
I've started listening to IRON MAIDEN maybe 1984 !!!
I had to hunt for their albums in Russia in 1985, now since I've moved to US, I'm enjoying it all!!!
