BOTH MY WIFE AND I SAW THEM ON JULY 30TH IN WINNIPEG AT THE MTS CENTER!
WAS MY SECOND TIME IN 17 YEARS SEEING THEM AND MY WIFES 3RD IN OVER 20 YEARS. SHE WAS MUCH LUCKIER THAN I WAS SHE SAW THEM MORE IN THEIR PRIME THE FIRST COUPLE TIMES!she saw them in 84 during their defenders tour and in 86 during their turbo tour they were at their best during the era she saw them.
me on the other hand got the rotten end of the stick for starters i have always been more of a maiden fan than a priest fan anyway and always will but none of that takes any of the respect i have had for them away from them in my eyes. i saw them the first time in 91 during their painkillers tour and they opened for alice cooper with metal church and motorhead, anyway,i dont know why it was but their performance that night was a big let down they were not nearly as good as i expected them to be,in fact alice cooper, who i was totally unprepared for blew them off the fucking stage before he ever got on it! lmao anyway it still never took anything away from them to me it just kept them from topping maiden as my favorite of the 2 i just considered that show as just a bad night for them and left it at that!
the perfomance on july 30th this year was much better this time than the first time i saw them so they somewhat made up for that show in 91 as far as i'm concerned!
and although my wife disagrees of course, lol they are still not as good as maiden in my opinion and i will still always be a maiden fan more than a priest fan,and now you know why! lol

Congrats on getting to see JP for the first time. I saw them play two weeks ago in San Antonio and let me tell you, this was one of the best performances I've seen them do. I've been able to catch them at least once on every tour since 1978 and this was my 20th time to catch Rob & Co. I saw the same set that Lisa did and I'd imagine that they aren't deviating much from that playlist anywhere on the tour this summer. What made this show so incredible is that the setlist was so different than all the other tours I've seen. Priest played really a minimal amount of "hits" that I've heard them play at literally EVERY show I've seen and then dusted off some gems that I hadn't heard live since those songs were new. I think its easy to forget just how many outstanding tunes they have recorded when all we ever hear on the radio are the same four or five tracks. Highlights for me were hearing "Devil's Child" and "Rock Hard, Ride Free" live for the first time in about twenty years and then "Dissident Aggressor" live for the first time ever. Very sweet! Add to this that I've never heard them play so tight and spot on every note. The sound was amazing and they truly played like they were energized and young again instead of pushing 60!!! My only complaint is that their set was barely 88 mins long including all the encores. I'm sure that's because of the Festival bill instead of it just being the Priest and an opening band. Even so, I still feel like I got my money's worth and left hoping they record and release another tour DVD for this tour. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
Now, for those of you that don't know it yet, rumors I've gotten so far from promoters are that this tour is to go out and satisfy all those fans who expect a "traditional" JP show with all the old and classic tracks. After the tour is over and they take a short break they will hit the road again featuring "Nostradamus" and play pretty much the whole album straight thru much like Queensryche did with the "Mindcrime" tours. It wouldn't surprise me to see them play some more intimate venues on this tour depending on how well they expect ticket sales to go. Regardless, I'll be there for sure you can count on that!
i saw Judas Priest at the verizon ampa theater in san antonio they were on the metal gods tour and it was robs birthday they had a cake for him at the end it was freakin awesome!
