woah! clash of the TITANS!!!!!!! the metal god vs. the air raid siren
do people like the raspy vocal style of dickinson on albums such as no prayer for the dying and fear of the dark and if not, would they consider halfords work with the bands fight and 2wo to be any good?
For me it will always be dickinson number 1! this is beacuse we've seen him with and without maiden and his standard is always impecable... halford on the other hand who is great with priest and his own band halford, did not earn my respect with fight or 2wo...
Superb singers though- the best we'll ever hear save a few exceptions!
NO,CONTEST !! ROB HALFORD IS THE BEST BY FAR WITH OR WITHOUT PRIEST..I JUST BOUGHT THE NEW HALFORD D.V.D. -HALFORD RESURRECTIN WORLD TOUR ''LIVE AT ''ROCK IN RIO'' & BY FAR HALFORD ROCKS AS HARD AS EVER..A TRUE STAGE PRESENCE!!
Well ill have to go with Bruce Dickinson because Iron Maiden is my absolute favorite band.......and they got me into metal. but it is kind of hard to choose because both are really good vocalists.
They can't be compared actually. They have different vocals wich are only for their music. I mean Rob can't sing for example Fear of the dark as Bruce sings it. And at the same time it won't be Painkiller sang by Bruce... Those two great vocalist make the sound of their bands unique and awesome. Rob is considered to be better because of his voice range is better than Bruce's)) BUT personally for me Bruce is better... I mean as frontman and a singer certainly... dunno. Iron Maiden has always been my favorite band and that's why Bruce is more related to me))
However, they are both TITANS!!
My favourite is Bruce Dickinson cause I have seen him live and he rocked right in front of my eyes. But Rob Halford is a better metal vocalist, much heavier, broader vocal range and can scream endlessly.
Halford. His voice is still holding up after all these years. I recently watched Maiden's Somewhere Back in Time tour and to me, it sounded like Bruce's voice is getting a little...raspy. He can't hit some of those high notes anymore, yet Rob can still dish it out like it was 1980 (release of British Steel)
i think this is a great discussion..
but think that you need to add dio in the mix...
who is the king of heavy metal vocals???
Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford or Bruce Dickinson????
It is VERY CLOSE--
