I agree with StainedClassPainkiller. Judas Priest formed in 1970, whereas the NWOBHM started around  the mid-to-late '70s. Also, Motorhead isn't NWOBHM; they weren't in their teens or their early '20s at the time. The NWOBHM is generalized as young kids in bands that formed from the mid '70s up to about '81 or '82 (the second generation of the NWOBHM formed around this time).

Judas Priest was never a part of the NWOBHM. The new wave started around 79, Judas Priest started in 68, and even recorded 5 albums before the NWOBHM broke out.

Love the NWOBHM like Iron Maiden, Venom, Saxon, Witchfinder General, Angelwitch, Diamond Head, etc.

Marseille
They claim to be the first band of the NWOBHM era. I saw them on play their first concert in the USA on May 9th 1980 in Charleston SC.

Anyone heard the Friday Rock Show on BBC 6 music hosted by Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson. I just heard him play a new track from Saxon.

Hello everyone!Seen IRON MAIDEN,WAYSTED,PICTURE [even though, they"re dutch],GIRLSCHOOL.From that era.Let"s not forget the new wave of american metal, either:SAINT VITUS+TROUBLE+MANOWAR+VIRGIN STEELE+CIRITH UNGOL. The new wave of world metal gave us some incredible music, regardless of the country of origin.A proud flag holder, since the days of classic born heavy music from the early seventies.Thank you very much. Rock-forever! Problems-never! Cheers!!!
