David Coverdale could be one of the most underrated musicians of all time (at least in the eyes of the US media and critics). I have no idea why Robert Plant would even feel the need to comment on Coverdale unless he felt threatened at some time. I don't know why he would feel that way. Led Z and Plant speak volumes and define a generation. Coverdale, as talented and wonderful a person as he is will never reach the realms of the recognition Plant has received. Although my loyalties lie with Coverdale and cannot be more impressed with his musical accomplishments and abilities, Plant is mainstream and recognized everywhere, more than Coverdale has and ever will be. Plant's comments have to be out of pure jealosy and feelings of retribution due to the fact that Jimmy Page felt Coverdale an important and talented enought person to work with, and make a great album by the way.

I think Robert Plant sucks. He clearly talks out of envy for David has always been more handsome, more popular ,
and a bette singer than him. David forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry, but I alway thought that Plant live sucks. Every once in a while I put in "The Song Remains The Same" DVD just to remind myself. This guy's ego is too big for his voice. He's probably still pissed that he had his ass handed to him at the Freddy Mercury tribute concert by the likes of Gary Cherone AND George Michael.

Rumor has it that Page was backstage at Great White unplugged and after they did "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" he said, "That guy does me better than I do."

Robert Plant who? Oh, he's a singer of that band called Led Zeppelin. I heard of them. He's not, from a far, as good singer as David Coverdale. He can only insult David, that's all he can do. It's pathetic, but, he envies David. And he has a lots of reasons for it. While Zeppelin existed he was popular. But, when Bonzo died, everything fell apart. And, since then, Robert Plant is never to be heard. And even Jimmy Page decided to make music with David. It was too much for Plant. He's a good singer, but, he never gave that much tribute to hard rock as David did.
David Coverdale started in Deep Purple. He replaced, very succesfully Ian Gillan. I prefer Deep Purple with David (Burn, Stormbringer and Come, taste the band). After he left Deep Purple, he formed David Coverdale's Whitesnake. Yeah!
And he still rocks, with that same band and he's like 60 years old. And he still sounds great live and sings with passion. He's my second favorite singer. First one is Bruce Dickinson. But, as you said, David's voice is mellow, bluesy and contagious. Cheers!

And to DefLeppardfan25- I heard his performance of Black Dog. Wow! Screw Robert Plant. Thanx!

I can´t deny that Robert is one of the best rock singers in history, but DAVID IS BETTER!!!!! ( Anyway don´t expect any other type of response by me, for as I usually write, I love Whitesnake beyond reason, no way!!!)
David Coverdale has surpassed him in every aspect,, his voice is certainly unique, and he has the capacity to turn every song, however plain it happens to be, as great, into a highly emotional one, and he sings like no other, no one can mistake him for another singer. That he copied Robert Plant is not in the least true. David's peerformance of Black Dog was great, and so was his version of Rock n' Roll and Kashmir. No doubt , if there were a contest Coverdal against Plant, David would win hands down. Whitesnake Forever!!!!

I love zeppelin a lot,but Plant is very falsely in singing....Coverdale is one of the best.
