Myself & a 'friend' have an on going arguement about how he
knows that glam rock is dead. Of course my being a fan of glam after having grown up with it over the course of fifteen years, defended it & said there is no way that glam could possibly be dead. When you see how many people still love glam, dress glam & as many people i know have done so, form glam metal bands. Motley crue have become a great influence upon my life & i wont stand when someone who knows just how…

Hmmm.... let's see. I am happily married with two kids ages 5 and 2. I love the 80's and really miss that era. I am a rocker at heart. So much so I have my 5 yr old listening to metal. His current favorite song is "Girls Girls Girls". My hubby isn't as enthusiastic about hair bands as I am, but he does really like them too. I'm a stay at home mom and absolutely love it. I am very outgoing and will talk about almost anything. I am also very honest and direct, so I hope I don't offend anyone…

Man, I had forgotten about this one. I have to give the folks over at the Rocklahoma forum boards credit for this, someone had posted it on one of their posts. This might be the greatest rock and roll video ever made. I finally found out who stole my leopard skin suit. Great song by the way, I always liked…

since we did Dokken's new one for AOTW, let's go with them for this week's video. I always liked this one, and although it wasn't their most creative (playing on the back of a moving semi for It's Not Love, or the image heavy Burnin' Like A Flame) it was certainly their most popular. And probably their most popular song too. George Lynch had a lot of guts to play that electric guitar out in the rain like that. Man, in the 80's if you had some rain and leather and a hot chick...you had a music…

In 1987 I was 13 years old and CD’s were a big deal to me at the time. Cassettes and vinyl where how most people still listened to their music, or at least the people I knew and hung out with. My friends and I all said that you shouldn’t by a album on CD unless (1) It was a classic album or (2) It was something that was of the utmost musical quality which made it necessary to play on a format as superior as a CD. Probably the most significant factor though for a 13 year old was that they were a…

Been waiting a while to do this one Angels...the new one from Dokken. We've talked in our reviews and everyday conversations about these new albums from our beloved metal artists and where they are going with them. The argument is always old formula vs. new blood, or new guitar player/vocalist/drummer/bassist vs. old guitar player/vocalist/drummer/bassist and the argument will never get old. Some people will always want to hear new stuff that sounds…

Just like the band that Big Rob posted on below, I've found one that you'll either love or hate. Thanks to new member Andy who runs the Dollhouse in Glasgow, UK -- an all glam/sleaze club (damn -- I wish they had one of those over here that I could go to). I was checking out the
Dollhouse MySpace page and found a band that I'd never heard of --
Confederacy of Horsepower
Now,…

Oh man...you're either gonna like this band or you're gonna hate 'em. I don't see it any other way. They are like a little heavier, a little more goth version of Europe. They come out of Sweden (God, what would metal do without Sweden and Norway lately) and are a HUGE success in their native land. They have only two albums to date, but both have gone gold in Sweden. I could talk about this band, but let's let the band talk for themselves. The…

the famous psychology question "who would you save?" but I can kinda remember the gist of it. Didn't it go something like "if you could save your parents, your best bud, your children, or the love of your life who would you save?" I think that's the meat of it anyway. It was a question aimed to deem where you were at that time in your life. When I was asked this question back in high school, I probably said Linda Worth because she was our only reliable alcohol buyer when we were underage. She…

and I mean that in a GOOD way. Andi is one of our newer members having joined over the weekend or on Monday. I saw that her daugher MIGHT have been wearing an Anthrax shirt in a family photo involving Andi, her daughter, and her son. This wasn't a photo taken at a picnic or party, this looks to be done by a professional. I asked her if that was an Anthrax shirt her daughter was sporting (I only saw the A) expecting her to email back telling me no, that it was Aeropostle, or American Eagle, or…

I say "I think" because you never know with those guys. It's a great festival, but organized it ain't. I was cruising the forum boards this morning before work and some of the loyal posters were saying they received lineup emails with no TBA's listed. I checked the official site, and sure enough there are no more TBA's for Sunday. It shaped up to be a great bill, but I was hoping for another great band (or two!) on Sunday. Oh well, like I said it's a killer lineup, and for those Angels…

So, I was cruising through the Internet this evening after I put my kids to bed, looking for ways that MFA might, you know, actually *make* money one day, and I ended up over on Amazon. They have a new little widget tool that lets you add clips of basically any song they have available for sale as an .mp3. So, I'm testing it out and decide to use Motley Crue, since they're current our biggest fan group. And I'll be damned if they don't have 30-second clips of each song on the SOLA album! That's…

We have alot of new members (as the old guard can probably atest) so we'll lay out the rules for the Lyrical Challenge every so often. We give you lyrics to a song, you give us artist and title. For now, you just get the fawning admiration of your fellow Angels for being armed with such vast metal knowledge, but in the future we will play for band t-shirts or other prizes. The reason we don't do this now is because even though we know that all of our members are squeaky clean members of…

Bobby deserves credit for this one, as he hinted at it on one of his discussions and I had never seen it. I went looking and found it. Does anyone remember this one? I watch SNL on and off, but hadn't even heard of this one. This is Keifer Sutherland playing Slash, Adam Sandler as AXL, and a hilarious turn by real-life Seb and Rachel. I wish I could have found a better quality video, but this shit is pretty funny. I know many of you have small children, and you should make a children's CD like…

I've written about these guys before (when they were known as Metal Skool)-- some of you think they're a mockery and a farce, some of you (including me) think they're fun as hell and would love to see them live. Whatever your stance, Steel Panther is keeping 80s rock going by being funny and popular with the celebrities. Now, they've signed a major record deal for the first time.

this sedentary in a long time. Feels pretty good. As I sit here house-sitting for Joe Saytch and doing hour upon hour of nothing but watching TV (and trying to find his booze stash) I have watched alot of things pertaining to our metal. The best--I finally got to see Hysteria : The Def Leppard Story on VH-1 classic. They might be doing the most outside of this site (ok...I know there are many other outlets holding true to our metal) to keep metal in the public conciousness. One of the…

G'day all...howzitgoing???
Down here in the colonies last night (sunday 25/05) I was watching 60 minutes ( or 48 minutes of bullshit and 12 minutes of commercials if ya like) and they were doing a story with Jon Bon Jovi and this crusty old bastard doing the story intimated that BON JOVI'S career was hurt by the stigma of being a "hair metal" band, my jaw hit the floor and if it was possible i woulda reached into the cathode brain de-generator (or T.V if ya like) and shook the old…
