New Crue Album.....

How fuckin good is it!!!!

It great to see an 80s band that can still deliver the goods... "Down at the Whiskey" sounds like it couldve been written for "Too fast for love" Classic Crue... What with this album, Def lepps "sparkle lounge" and KISS destroying Europe with their biggest europe trek ever... 2008 is turning out to be a killer year for ROCK...

Father's Day Redux: Q&A With Papa Saytch

I personally enjoyed Big Rob's interview with his mom so much that I decided to rip off the idea and do a similar Q&A with my dad, who tolerated me pretty well back when I was a heavy metal teenager growing up. Dad was not one of those dads who thought our music was all "noise" -- he actually liked a lot of it. Take it away, pops:

Joe Saytch: I recently learned that you and Mom… Continue

I found this and posted it awhile back

in the infancy of MFA, but since we have so many Guns addicts and Slashaholics, I'll post it again. It's Slash and Zakk Wylde doing a little impromptu jamming on Hendrix's Voodoo Child. It was my favorite song by Jimi and these guys do it a lot of justice.… Continue

Anyone who knows me...

and everyone on this site is someone who I want to know me, will tell you that the one thing I miss the most about the 80's metal I love so much were the cool props. Everyone now seems to play a Les Paul or a Telecaster or a Stratocaster...and from the guitarists I've talked to there is nothing wrong with that, those guitars are actually the pinnacle of the hard rock sound....but I miss the cool shredding axes. I've posted at length about this before, so I won't get into it again, but I did… Continue

Some times you feel

the radio Gods are with you. I got bored last night sitting at home, and since it was a very nice night here, I hit the road to get some fresh air. I would do this more often if gas wasn't a gazillion dollars a gallon. I had it on the local rock radio station here (average at best....they've been playing alot of crap lately) and as soon as I cranked up my car Lick It Up by KISS came blasting through the speakers. Excellent! Great way to start. As I made my way into the suburbs of town Still Of… Continue

How did you find MFA?

When I joined Mama's Fallen Angels there were just over one hundred members if I remember right, and that was not that long ago. Now that the membership is exploding here I am just wondering how did you find MFA? I got an MFA business card from Saytch telling me that I should check it out.

Other then the 80's

Of course there was alot of kick ass rock and metal that came out after and before the 80's. In fact when the 80's came most of the music was dominated by pop metal and no name bands who only produced one hit wonders. Im not sayin the 80's was all bad cuz alot of good bands an music came out too, they just never got airtime over other genres of pop an all.

Video Of The Week...

Let's see who I can get with this one. This is actually my favorite song from KEEL, and the video got very limited airplay for awhile on MetalShop and Headbanger's Ball. The song is from the Dudes soundtrack, which starred Jon Cryer. While the song is very good, I regularly see the movie mentioned in "worst of all time" lists. Rock and Roll Outlaw by KEEL ladies and gentleman.......if you remember this one it should take you WAY back!…

Disturbing, (and at some points, ludicrous), but VERY interesting..........!!!

Hey Angels,

I don't know how many of you are familiar with this story to BEGIN with, but to catch you-up, here it is.......

Back in the day, Judas Priest were hauled into court, over a very serious case involving two guys (Raymond Belknap, and James Vance) who had spent half the day "getting their groove on" (allegedly through some heavy drinking and the smoking of a few joints, but I'll stay out of the business of proclaiming their state-of-mind at the time, with any… Continue

Well...even though we got her

head cut off in the photo, I wanted to post a poster I got signed by a Miller Lite girl at the bar the other night. I wanted all the names of MFA regulars included on the poster, but the punk ass frat boys in line behind me started rushing her up. She's asleep in my bed at my place right now (rough night Angels) so when I get home I'll try to get another one. That is, of course, after she cooks my supper and cleans my apartment. That last part was joke ladies, just a joke.…

Man...I feel dumb on this one

and it doesn't take much for me to feel dumb Angels. If you would have asked me who the original vocalist of AC/DC was, I would have told you with much pride in my metal knowledge that it was none other than the late, great Bon Scott. Be honest, many of you would say the same thing. And we'd be WRONG! Just got wind of this cat named Dave Evans, who actually achieved moderate success in Australia (Daveo land as it's known hereabouts) with Can I Sit Next To You Girl---AC/DC's first single that… Continue

Album O' The Week..

and since the Crue is making a splash with the newly released Saints Of Los Angeles, we're gonna go with a record that helped put them on the map. Shout At The Devil gets the call today. This album is important to me for a lot of reasons. Number one, it's a masterpiece. I like every song, know every word, and can air-guitar every riff. This record doesn't get enough credit for helping jumpstart the glam scene, but it should. I know it's not their… Continue

MFA site at Rocklahoma!

I just got off the phone with the Rocklahoma folks and after several questions of "do you know who I am" and several "no" answers I finally got the low down on our campsite. It is in the VIP section and it is site number V2A-42. As far as the lady could tell me, it's just an extension of the normal VIP camping section. From what everyone else has told me, it's actually a new area they made right behind the stages. When I confirm this (and honestly, with the Rocklahoma folks it's an absolute… Continue
