Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

Queensryche last night was very good. I went by myself, therefore had to drive, and therefore did not drink. It was the first time in a long time that I didn't have plentiful cold ones during a rock concert and I kind of liked it. Well, enough of my history of drunken revelry and on to the AOTW. Out Of The Cellar by RATT is the call and it couldn't have come at a better time. The band is getting flat out blasted in the media for the sloppiness of their recent shows, and fans have taken notice that things aren't the same in RATTland. Stephen just came back and it's going to take some time to get in synch, people. Have some patience.

Out Of The Cellar was released in 1984 and in my mind helped usher hair metal to the airwaves in more ways than other albums of the era. Round and Round was pretty much everywhere, and was one of the first metal songs to break national top 40 lists. Plus the video had Milton Berle, which is always a plus. The album wasn't all pop metal though, we have some crunchers here. Lack of Communication is one of my favorite RATT songs and is one of the early songs that made me want to pick up a guitar. My horrible playing is one of the reasons I quickly put it down. Back For More is the other notable release from the album and is a crowd favorite at the few RATT shows I've been too. Pure Cock Rock here folks, so crank it. Out Of The Cellar is our AOTW!!

Not my favorite Ratt album but still a worthy album of the week.

Pearcy's perfomance at Rocklahoma was atrocious but the rest of the band was great

I have always been a fan of RATT. Maybe because they were from my home town for the most part. Last I saw them in concert was minus Crosby, minus Croucier, plus Crane. They put on one hell of a show but paled in comparison to Cinderella that night. At least the didn't blow hippo dick like Great White did though.

while at ROCKLAHOMA RATT kinda pissed me off. They were on stae longer than scheduled...wawawa. Agree with SLAM 110%. The rest of the band was pretty awesome.
Anyways, OUT OF THE CELLAR IS/WAS RATTs best album. Good selection ROB

Good choice! I never got into RATT as much as I should've -- not sure why -- but I did like this one a lot.

I agree with the recent criticism -- Pearcy was atrocious at Rocklahoma -- but the rest of the band was fine. Maybe he'll get it back...we'll see next year at Rocklahoma (hopefully).
