Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

This edition will actually be Bangles free, unless Susanna Hoffs and I can make...ahem...separate personal arrangements. Away we go.

The Dead Heart--Midnight Oil. Like Midnight Oil, like this song. Truganini is probably my fave.

The Downeaster Alexa--Billy Joel. Very powerful song about the New England fishing industry.

Bad Luck--Social Distortion. Social D---a metal band in punk clothing.

Hello--Lionel Richie. Great Stuff. Love Lionel. This is two Lionel sightings in a row in the iPod 5 for me.

Paschendale--Iron Maiden. An overlooked classic Maiden song from an overlooked classic Maiden album.

Social distortion is more of a rockabilly punk sound than a metal band. SD is a kick ass band, but you know how important labels are.

Agree with you on Paschendale Robbo. I think it is up there with Rime Of The Ancient Mariner as one of Maiden's best ever epics.

Kill The King (live version) - Rainbow. Taken from On Stage, one of the best live albums.

In For The Kill - Black Sabbath. From the massively overlooked Seventh Star album.

Whitesnake - David Coverdale. From Northwinds, Coverdale's first solo album after the split of Deep Purple.

Listen Like Thieves - INXS. A classic track from a great band.

Black Horse And The Cherry Tree - K.T. Tunstall. Best known for the song Suddenly I See from The Devil Wears Prada, but this was her debut single.
