F**K ME IT'S BEEN A WHILE AINT IT??...I haven't done a dept. blog in yonks ( there's a good aussie time frame for ya..hahaha...YONKS)..ANYWAY.....

While I been laid up with various and never ending degree's of fuck that hurts...I been going through the video tapes
( SHOCK HORROR...VHS)...and re-watching some of the stuff I got...I wont tell ya about Jason, Michael Myers and various other comedies I possess..I will however elucidate graphically about 3 of my favourite rock flix..READY..GOOD

STILL CRAZY: 100 WATTS TOO LOUD, 50 PILLS TOO MANY, 20 MYEARS TOO LATE

So STRANGE FRUIT were playing this festival in the U.K in 1973 when a storm erupts and lightning and thunder harang the stage..the boys take this as a hint to call it quits, which they do...fast forward 20 years...and the keyboard player (Stephen Rea) is a condom salesman in Ibiza..bollocks to this he thinks lets get the band together again, he hunts down the band members, the band is rounded out by JImmy Nail, Billy Nighy, Timothy Spall and the ever faithful roadie Billy Connolly and hit the bricks trying to shine up the old tarnish and get the old buzz happening again..along the way they recruit a replacement guitarist for Brian ( their member of the talent dying early club) and play some f'n toilets along the way...they have falling outs, soul searching and some laughs...the end needs to be seen so i aint gonna tell ya...go rent it or something..greast tunes by the way.

HYSTERIA: The Def Leppard Story

What a flick..seriously ...I got this just on the title..and yes..Spielberg had nothing to do with it, so it aint that "shiny" but it does get the story of The Leps from when they were starting up through the early tours and Steve Clarks and Ric Allens incidents across and well explained and by gingo's they even look like the Leps for the most part ( the bloke playing Ric Allen looks like his eleven, but what can you do...They got Anthony Michael Hall from Dead Zone playing Mutt Lange...if thats how Mutt Lange really is..no wonder it took 'em 5 years to do a album...anyway...if you can find it..go get it...not bad at all.

and now for one of my personal favourites.....

ROCK STAR

Go on laugh you bastards..I think this flick is bonz and trust me when I say that I've copped some from "ahem" rockers over liking it...I understand that Zack Wylde didnt like the movie and refused to go to the premier..BUT...he didnt give the f'n money back did he..loudmouth arsehole...get over yaself zakky...ANYWAY.....starts out with Mark Wahlberg as a singer in a tribute band and the subsequent falling out with the others over not wanting to do originals...a couple of "ahem" fans of the band get a video to the leader of STEEL DRAGON who have just lost their "in the closet" singer..( i'm starting to see were the Judas Preist movie rumours started) and they hire Wahlberg to step in, he does , willingly I might add, and embraces the life style whole heartedly..to the point were he loses Jennifer Anniston for being a drug addled asshole (moron)...this sorta snaps him back around to the world of clarity and conviction and when the band refuses to listen to stuff his written because his just a hired hand...he bails two songs into a gig and disappears.....he hooks back up with Jen and his old guitarist from his tribute band days, looking suspiciously like Eddie Vedder..but there ya go...GO GET IT..ignore the knockers..the tunes are great...my favoiurite being "we all die young" great f'n song....
