Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

Two older ones from the Crue to be more precise. We've had the discussions about what album got you into metal, and for me it was Shout At The Devil. My older brother had the tape, and it introduced me big time into the world of the power chord. The makeup, the drinking, the drugs, the bad assedness----Motley Crue was certainl a whole new world of music for me. I loved it. I was hooked, and I'm still hooked. Motley isn't my favorite metal band, and this isn't my favorite album, but I always point to it as the "you started here" point of my metal love. We'll take Looks That Kill from Shout At The Devil for contestant numero uno. Contestant number two will come from Too Fast For Love, and we'll go with Live Wire. TFFL is an overlooked album in our metal....we'll have to give it a closer look in the weeks ahead. So..there you go. Two from early Motley Crue. Show your age Angels and remember which one of these songs rocked harder.....

Really tough call. I think Crue lost their edge after Shout at the Devil. I LOVED that album when it came out, so I am gonna vote for Looks That Kill strictly based on the fact that it was that song that made me go "whoah". I probably like Too Fast For Love better though

I'll never forget the first time I heard/saw Motley Crue. It was in 1983 on a show called "Pop n Rocker". It was hosted by Bowser from Sha Na Na. They played "Looks that Kill". Totally blew me away!

I would have to go with Looks that Kill!! It's one of my all time favs from them besides Smokin' in the boys room.

I love both songs, but I'm going to have to go with Looks That Kill, definitely rocks harder. Although TFFL is my fave Crue album.
If you listen to that song and then Young Girls by Dokken, the riffs sound similar.

Live Wire..... but for the record,"on with the show" is the top track from tffl..I reckon!

I'm torn here, alway loved Looks that kill but Livewire on the above video kinda steams along like a train with no brakes. Gotta go with Looks tho cos its a much better written song!! From a musicians and a listeners point of view!

"Live Wire ... steams along like a train with no brakes"

Exactly.

Beautifully put.

I think this may be their best song ever.
