Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

I can't remember what the first song I heard from this band was, but I remember it was live. Actually, the first few I heard from them were live songs, and at first I wasn't very impressed with Armored Saint. I then heard Can U Deliver and I was hooked. March Of The Saint was Armored Saints first album and to me it was certainly one of their best. They were lumped in with thrash, and they were probably a little more melodic than that. They got lumped in with glam, but they were much harder than the glam bands.

March Of The Saint was a straight ahead NWOBHM sounding record to me, with Jon Bush being as solid a vocalist as Halford, Dio, or Meine. Can U Deliver will probably stand out as my favorite from this record, but Seducer is damn close. So many rockers here it's hard to really choose just one. It really is a solid album from top to bottom. The Sandoval brothers (Phil and Gonzo) deserve a lot of recognition from our metal in putting together a top notch metal outfit. The solos are crisp and the rhytms are certainl worthy or getting your head to bang. Relive March Of The Saint if you get a chance today. You might just do like I'm doing now as I listen to it while writing this review.....scratching your head and wondering why these guys aren't on the same pedestal as Metallica or Megadeth. March Of The Saint from Armored Saint is our Album O' The Week!

I LOVE this album and I can say that this album and the song Can U Deliver are what turned me to metal for good. Saw them on this tour opening for W.A.S.P. on their debut album tour and Metallica on the Ride the Lightning tour. Fucking life-changing... bang that head that does not bang! \m/

These guys are always a band I say I'm gonna check out and then never do - must get off my ass and pick some of their stuff up for a listen. I do like Can U Deliver though - kick ass song!

I remember when this album came out. There is a record store here in Colorado Springs called Independant Records. They had the band come in for a meet and greet and I went, bought the album, met the guys and saw their show that night. They were all very cool to me when I met them and the show was excellent! I haven't listened to this album in ages (mainly becuase my ex wife destroyed or took my collection) but I think I might go to the store (the same one where I first bought it!) and get another copy, I could use a dose of kick ass rock n roll and a trip down memory lane won't hurt either!

Great post, and great choice for album of the week Robbo, Thank you!

Great choice! March of the Saint is a great rock album and I think the band was overlooked by many. I think because they're hard to categorize. They're later albums all have great tracks on them. Definitely worth a listen. And I've never seen any videos from these guys before.... so thanks.

THE Worlds most underrated band.

I remember buying this on cassette back in the day. If I remember right I bought Venom's debut at the same time. I haven't listened to this in years because I no longer have the cassette (or even a cassette player). I'll have to add this to my shopping cart at Amazon.com for the CD
