Album O' The Week : Triumph and Agony from Warlock

Triumph and Agony was Warlock's fourth and last studio offering. It became by far their most successful album, on the heels of All We Are, the anthemic rocker that introduced Warlock and Doro to the United States. The band had a cult following in Germany and parts of Europe to this point, but they cracked the almighty MTV nut with Triumph and Agony. The band succumbed to the ever crippling lineup shuffle (that plagued so many of our bands) after a very successful tour in support of Triumph and Agony, opening for Megadeth. Warlock was more than just a pretty face, and this album is solid from top to bottom. Give this one a spin today if you get the chance, but also go back and sample some of Warlock's spectacular early work. Triumph and Agony is our Album O' The Week!

Now I have most of the stuff on CD minus "True at Heart" and "Love Me In Black". Great singer, and there are some great songs here. My fav is probably "I Rule The Ruins".; ▶ Reply to This

"I Rule the Ruins" has the greatest guitar intro ever - it'll absolutely blow you away it is so cool. "Metal Tango", "Kiss of Death", "Touch of Evil" are timeless rockers."Make Time for Love"; this power ballad has the spirit of melancholy, and loneliness. The album ends with the beautiful 'Fur Immer'. I have no idea what she's singing about, but I love it. Doro Pesch is one of the best female vocalist ever and she's perfect for metal. "Triumph And Agony" is Warlock's best and most famous album without any doubts...; ▶ Reply to This
