European bands seem to have more loyalty to their members than American bands. American bands will fire or get rid of a member for any reason.

Def Lep kept their drummer after he lost his arm, unheard of.

And Iron MAiden hired Gers after Adrian left. When Adrian returned they kept Gers too and had 3 guitar players.

I give Rick Allen all the credit in the world and Def Leppard too for giving him the chance to continue.

I think they look at him first as a friend than a band member, is great what maiden did too, keeping Gers on the band after Adrian return was very human thing, even they made a concert for Cliff Bur sickness the first drummer of iron maiden

If he hadn't lost the arm......well, ya know.

He is awesome, it took a lot of courage and dedication to do what Rick's done and I really admire the other Def Leppard guys for standing by him. Amazing talent and dedication, hard not to admire that.

Well it wasn't meant as an insult at all. If he hadn't lost the arm can you imagine how good he'd be? I mean he's awesome with one...if he still had both arms the dude would be another Moon or Bonham.

It was meant as a praise, not an insult.

Yep...he's truly courageous. And cheers as well to the rest of Def Lep for standing by him. Hysteria was an groundbreaking album for them.....Glad they chose to let Rick stay with them and benefit from that record and beyond.

He is the best it takes alot of balls to have your arm taken off in a car accident, and then go and play again. He is the greatest in my opinion
