Where 80's Metal Fans Connect

if you had the chance to have a "Back to the Future" moment, what would you do ?
I know the younger members would love the chance to experience our decadent past.
But what about those of us that have been there done that ?

*let's have some fun with this one, you may choose as many things as you like. Making one choice would be too difficult since so many things were going on in the 80's.
So pick one year, 1980-1989 that you would like to return to and tell us what you'd do/change .

I would have to say that during the summer of 87 I would have not partied so much that I ended up in rehab by Christmas. I pissed away a couple of academic and baseball scholarships because I basically did not give a shit about anything but where and when I was going to get high or drunk. But then again hindsight is 20/20. I would not be who I am today without experiencing what I did. As they say what does not kill you only makes you stronger

I'd go to 1999 and continue to study medicine at the Moscow University. I left it after 2 years and now I don't have any education.

Great question! Practically every day I think to myself "If I could go back in time, would I change anything"? One big thing I always wonder about is if I wouldn't have taken that first puff on a cigarette. I have thought about this for a long time, and I came to the conclusion that yes, I still would have started smoking. I met the mother of my children because we both love our cigarettes. We have the 3 best kids in the world, and if I would have not hooked up with a smoker, my kids would not be the same (or I might not even have kids). I weigh the pro's and con's about smoking all the time. According to a recent study, if you are a lifelong smoker, you have a 1 in 2000 chance of getting lung cancer. Well, around here, you have about a 1 in 1000 chance of getting shot in a drive-by shooting! I think "Did I screw up by quitting school in 9th grade"? Well, I think not. I was raised in an upper-class family with my dad being a psychologist, and my mom being a social worker. I was taught that only people with university degrees were the best people to hang with, but when I quit school, I saw that "regular" people were actually more real than university phd. people.
No, even if any change would add a few extra years to my life, I wouldn't do it. My life is about as perfect as you can get, so why mess with my mind thinking "woulda, coulda, shoulda>"

I would go back to 1985, when I was a DJ at the campus radio station and girls were throwing themselves at me! I believed all that "just say NO!" stuff. I regret the things I DIDN'T do more than the things I did!

I'd not go back in time. I believe that our future is better than the past.
The only thing I'm sorry about - that I started to play my bass guitar a bit late. Probably I'd go back for a couple of years just because of that fact

I would have chosen to live with my dad after the divorce. My mom over the years has said that she only wanted 2 kids and she has made it very clear that even though I am her oldest child she has chosen my sister and brother as her 2. The fucked up part is, until my brother and his fiancee got preggy, I am the one that has children. So, I wish I would have gone to live with my dad.
