Which Song Rocked Harder : Two from the Scorpions

and two ballads at that. Still Loving You came off the Love At First Sting album, and it was by far the biggest selling album the band has ever had (#6 Billboard). The album was featured prominently on World Wide Live (the best live album of our metal, IMHO) and introduced the Scorpions into the mainstream American metal scene. It was a killer album, and this song was a killer ballad.

Wind Of Change off of Crazy World was a HUGE international hit (#4 Billboard) and kept the Scorps in the musical consiousness during the grunge onslaught of the early 90's. The song sings the praises of social, political, and economic change that spread throughout Europe in the 1980's, and was voted Song Of The Century by German television station ZDF. The song is the highest selling song ever in Germany, and is often thought of as the song of German unification. I don't care who you are Angels, when ANYONE votes your song as Song Of The Century, it's a good thing.

So, we have the heart wrenching Still Loving You vs. the mega uplifting Wind Of Change. Both songs are meaningful and deep, but Which Song Rocked Harder. Or, in this case, which song stirs your heart more!

Later, when democracy replaced communism in Bulgaria the other song became a huge hit being so symbolical of the time. But i vote for Still loving you!; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by lafi on November 5, 2008 at 1:22pm: First of all i cannot accept nicholas' blasphemy about the scorpions when he said that they suck.this is a site which brings together fans of different bands on the basis of respect towards one's opinions. for me it was like offending my family. i honestly think there is no comparison whatsoever between scorpions and his favourite ac/dc but i respect his opinion and i dont go and write that they suck especially in a topic dedicated to the band. now as regards the topic... musically, i prefer still loving you... but wind of change is historic, a reminder to a whole generation of the changes that happened then. other bands can only sit, listen and learn.; ▶ Reply to This
